Is there anyway to help it?

The ex racer I share has it. He is ok when he's in the feild but when he's boxed even with bandages it still blows up.
It goes down with work but I wondered if there was anything else that can help it?
He is fed a hadfull of original alfalfa 1/4 scoop pony nuts 1/4 scoop conditioning nuts 1/2 scoop sugar beet and a small hand full of barley
Here's some picture's (Don't mind all the scar's that was a incident at another yard)

from looking at your photos and reading your comment i would say its not lymphengitis, it's puffy legs, sounds like gg has done lots of miles.
When you bandage legs how do you do them??? When doing stable bandages, you need to support lower leg and you need to include fetlock joint.
If done correctly, they easy legs filling and you stated once out in field puffness goes down. If this horse had lymphengistis, legs would swell above bandages and horse will be lame and be in pain and would require a vet, as this condition is very pain.

Second the above- it doesn't seem like lymphangitis to me, just legs swelling overnight. My youngster has this and I have taken to cutting back the amount of hard feed she has in her evening feed which helps, and then stable bandaging which makes a big improvement.

Yes I agree with the above as well. I have a 22yr old ex racer whose back legs fill overnight too - one more so than the other. They go down no problem when he is turned out or ridden & don't cause him any trouble. Just turn out every day if you can & he should be fine.

My horse has swollen legs overnight and they look identical to that, i use veredus magnetic stable boots and turn out as much as i can and touch wood they havent been puffy at all since i started using the boots!
A horse on the yard had lymphangitis its back legs swelled upto its sheath and its legs seeped a clear fluid she had the vet to him although i think all he was prescribed was bute?? she also cut down his protein intake and made sure he is turned out as much as possible.

After having lymphengitis it is possible that some of the swelling never goes down it just stays a bit puffy, the main thing is to check for any heat in the leg, in which case call the vet for another course of antibiotics!

Hope that helps

My horse has lymphangitis at the moment, his leg is a lot more swollen than your pic. He too had serum oozing out of his leg, he has had a course of antibiotics, a course of steroids, and now a course of diuretics. The leg is still very swollen and I am getting worried, this has been going on the nearly 4 weeks now, but at least the swelling has reduced round the sheath. Very scarey. Vet recommends gentle exercise and turnout. Anyone know how long this sort of thing can last ?

my little mare had it for three months, started with one leg and ended up in all four, it can lead to permanantly swollen legs, and re occurring bouts of inflamation

Exercise can help with the swelling but only gentle walking, as can bandaging when in

Good luck, I hope it clears up soon
