Does anyone supplement with lysine on it’s own and what brand of it do you feed? I’ve just had a hay analysis back and it’s extremely low in lysine(perfect in every other way!)

Out of interest, why is Lysine important i.e why is a lack of it bad?

I only ask as I take a daily Lysine supplement to prevent regular bouts of shingles!

forageplus, progressive earth or equimins, though the latter don't list on the website, you have to email.

Thanks those were the ones that came up when I googled, I wondered if I was missing any others. It seems forage plus in the best price

I think Healthy horse do straights too.

Equimins used to be the cheapest but can't compare current prices as it's not listed on their website on its own and the price list I have is years old. With FP and PE I find postage makes a difference. PE works out cheaper if you buy just one small bag of something but with several items it adds up. FP has free postage over a certain amount but that only works if you're making quite a big order.
