M&M Classes

Is it just me or are there hundreds of M&M's at local shows this year?

I have noticed an increase but I've decided not to support local shows with M&M classes anymore as there's about 25 per class and it takes ages to complete! Told my hunter class would be at 1pm - it was nearer 4 o'clock!!! I like supporting local shows as much as possible but it looks like they don't need my support anymore...

I don't have anything against M&M ponies - I love the welsh breeds personally but can't there just be an M&M show especially???

More down to the shows organisers I would have thought.

Most shows which are pre entry only are a lot more organised as far as start times are concerned because they know what to expect, rather than just seeing what turns up on the day. Just choose what you enter based on that maybe?

Yep, afraid it is more the organisers than those pesky M&M competitors - how dare they want to go to a show too! There are affiliated shows that are just for M&M's just like I think there are ones just for non-hairys as well - maybe you should look into those.

Agree that those shows that take pre-entries, operate lots of rings and don't try and cram everything in will be better - but that's just down to the organisation.

With 25 in class the organisers wont be getting rid of the M&M classes in a hurry - that's a whole load of entry fees, maybe they should just get rid of the less lucrative hunter classes with the lower entries!!

Totally agree with you both - I'm just having a rant I guess.

Thing is, it has increased over the years, so much so, I think it warrants a ring all to itself, I mean M&M classes.

I do enter pre-entry shows but sometimes when you know shows are closeby (i.e. hacking distance, like yesterday) and just want to have a bit of fun, it is a bit frustrating. You know, why do I have to travel for miles on end to find a show that suits me all the time?
