I'm taking my boy to his first show this weekend and need to know what people think. :) does he need trimming up anywhere? i'm thinking maybe his mane is a bit to long? And tail is it true you should have the tail shaped like a V at the end?
Also any good products that anyone has used and works?

Next thing is myself, its only a local show but never done showing before so was not to sure what i have to wear? is a hat a must? also i heard for horses with light coloured legs you where dark trousers?

Sorry I can't see your photo. As for yourself shirt, tie tweed jacket. Trousers which are comfy, I use sage green so no matter what colour the horses legs are I don't blend in. I wear a hat just in case I'm handling a youngster who just may want to tap dance on my head.

Omg ..love that pony !! Looks like mine but smaller !! ( I have a d) I maybe would shape the mane alittle more ( tactfully) but not take it short !! As this is your ponies party piece IMO :) yes tail to a v .. The idea is soft / natural trimming .. So tidy ish but not perfect ;) ( Katie jerram told me that :p)

lovely pony nessa. Too much is made about the colour of trousers! More important to have your pony turned out correctly and move well in hand. The mane could do with some work and yes the tail should be feathered. Shirt and tie with a waistcoat is a good look with trousers and short boots. Never dress like you are going to ride. Have a look at the Welsh Welsh cobs site and you will see photos of sec A's shown at the big county shows which will give you a good idea how to turn yourself and your pony out correctly. Good luck.

Thank you :-) I haven't got any pictures of his tail but how do you do this V shape do you no anywhere that i could find a picture so i could get an idea? I'm just trying to see if i have a better ones of his mane from a side angle. I'm scared to trim case i mess it up lol

I would check the show rules as I have sometimes had to wear a hat. I have natives and I would swear by elvive hair masks for their names, it makes them really silky! I chalk the boys legs and swear by a dry sponge with just a hint of oil on for picking up any dust . Your pony's really cute btw :)

I trimmed my sec A's ears slightly abd his tail in to a v. I would have a gentle pull or trim of that mane if the pony was mine

I wore a tweed skirt, white blouse and black waistcoat, brown hat, brown gloves, brown showing cane. Most people wear trousers though
