Most likely a dim question.....

I have a 13.3 Highland - well, he's daughters really but YKWIM. I am 5'5'' weigh about 9st and am 40 (eeeek:eek:).

Can I ride him in M+M classes - even though he's a pony and I'm an old git? He's getting fairly filled out now (rising 6 ) so he takes up my leg ok....I don't look too hideous.....

Is it allowed?

As far as I'm aware the vast majority M&M classes don't have age restrictions, lots of adults seem to show natives :D

I will be pony squishing a 13.2hh Fell (I'm 5ft 2 and lardy) this year and have been assured by my friend who has judged at county level that I'll be fine so I'm sure you will be too.

no age limited on m+ m classes, i know people of the same height as you that ride smaller ponies and do very well with them

Excellent- he's far better behaved at shows than my demented veteran so Imay have a bash on him.....only problem is I can't fit my posterior into daughters 15'' saddle so may have to invest in one for me too.

Thankies for that:)

Yey! Go for it. Adults can ride any of the M&M breeds, no age or height limit. I will be (hopefully) Fell showing this summer (at 5'8" and 25). Good Luck.

It most certainly IS allowed!!:D get out there and have some fun - that's what our wonderful native breeds are for!!

Go for it. I'm shorter, heavier and older than you and ride a 14hh Highland. Ridden Highland classes are usually adult and there are quite a few 'mature' riders! Enjoy!
