Hi,
I use them on the front feet only of my dressage horse and he is absolutely fine with them, we school, lateral work! and hack up and down hills in them, they are great. A little tip if you do use them- I put a little sawdust (not shavings) the sort you buy for hamster cages! in the bottom of the boot before putting his feet in them, this soakes up the sweat from the sole and stops thrush! on the odd occasion when the farrier has trimmed his feet they can be a fraction too big for a week or so until the horn grows slightly, when this happens I use a Vetwrap over the hoof and it just grips a little better until we get a bit more growth. If your hacking in them get your farrier to rasp off the front treads slightly around the toe area (at an angle) this allows a better break over from the horses action and doesn't prevent him stepping out! He/she will know what I mean if you tell him! Hope this helps
Yep they stay on even if you are off road in long grass.
They weren't sure they'd be a good fit for my boy as he has pretty much square hooves but they're fine , don't spin or slip. Just use them infront as after hacks he gets a bit pottery in front if I haven't used them.
Mine are new and fit very snugly indeed even when he's just had hit feet trimmed.
Lillo - do you know what size you will need? I have some that have been used about 10 times max (and only on small hacks) that are looking for a new home. PM if you are interested!
