I have just found out that Saus is an absolute clever little b*gger!

Some of you may remember the thread about how Saus “wasn’t figuring out” her muzzle, so we contacted her previous owners if they had any tips, because she’s a horse with a history of lami, so we thought she must have worn a muzzle before.

They told us that yes, she has worn a muzzle, and yes she’s eaten successfully in it. However, she’ll pretend she can’t possibly use it whenever people are around so they take pity on her and remove it!

I’ve just gone and hidden behind a stack of crates and had a little look and she is indeed eating!

What a funny and clever little porkchop, I’m too impressed to be annoyed! 🤣

A while back I gave my boy a treat ball. He looked at it bemused so I demonstrated it to him (kick it around a bit and point out the treats that fall out)
He didn’t seem to be grasping the concept…until I realised he was using me as a human treat dispenser. He knew full well how to get the treats but was effectively saying “no, I don’t get it, show me again” in order to make me do all the work.
When I walked away I could hear the ball rattling round his stable no problem.

My first pony was too clever by half. At one yard I couldn't muzzle her as another pony would remove it so I made her an electric fenced paddock and put her in there during the day and let her out overnight.

All was fine for a bit then I started getting phone calls telling me she was out but every time I got there she was in. One day I parked car half a mile away and walked to the field. Lo and behold she was out ...till she spotted me and jumped back in 😂

I gave up on the paddock then and just started working her more.

These posts are very timely. I got to the field this morning to see my two coming across from the shelter, all normal I thought . . . Then I saw they'd been out overnight and had obviously gone back under the electric fence (bottom strands were broken) to try and get away with it!!! Top bad for them that one had left a 'calling card' 😉
