I have kept quite about this because i didn't like to admit that me and my "Maximoose" had a problem

A month or so ago he went over/through his electric fencing.
I had ridden him 2 days beforehand with no problems.
This day.... when i girthed him up he pulled faces

I got on outside and he pranced and danced......
Then when i put my leg on.......

"UP" he went

Now Max is a gent, he doesn't complain, unless there is a problem.
So.....
Back woman came out, and found no problem. But said he needs a new saddle. I did suspect this, but wanted to eliminate all problems.

What i am asking or is someone who is qualified and who will travel to Derbys, who does made to measure saddles, and is GOOOOOOOOOD.

Can anyone help me

I don't think you need it made to measure, just get a decent saddler out to fit you one.

This is our local guy who is good, you can take your horse to him.. and they have a lovely shop full of goodies!

website looks like a shop but he does saddle fittings. Not sure how far that will be from you?? He has a lot - some second hand too.

Bless half horse half camel!

Just asking because if your boy is reacting that badly to his current saddle (that is how I read your post that you thought he'd hurt himself on leccy fence, but back person says behaviour is down to saddle being poor fit, is that right?) then it will take several weeks to have one made so you'll either have to not ride in the mean time or stick with the problem saddle.

I'd take him to your saddlers and see what they have be for you go to the expense and inconvenience of M 2 M, your perfect saddle might be waiting for you already!

(Also friend of mine spent a small fortune on one from well known company, waited for weeks and it was shite, it didn't fit at all so you don't necessarily get what you pay for!)

Can definitely recommend Mel Lewis from the Horse Shop www.saddlesuk.com. Her website isn't very up-to-date but I have had 2 made to measure saddles from her and they have been excellent and reasonably priced!
She is in Shropshire, but definitely travels to Derbyshire at least once a week.

Have you considered a treeless saddle?

My horse has a mound where her withers should be and is also VERY wide, I bought a Phoenix saddle and we both love it.

The other good hing about treeless saddles is they 'should' fit your horse through weight gain and loss.
