Hello All, I was wondering if anyone knows of any offspring by Maestro, I've got one of his last offsprings, he passed away last year, I live in France & I bought a Mare who was in foal to him (Full Trakhner by Sapros). I'll not be competing over here but I was wondering if she is well bred & if his offspring are good horses then I may send her back to England to compete, I know Ruth Edge was riding Muschamp Impala & I believe this was by Maestro can anyone help!

Andrew Nicholson now has Impala, and I belive another mare out of the same dam - Ithaca (and by Maestro) is currently for sale as a broodmare.

I owned Ithaca for a while, and have another one of her foals, but don't know much more about Maestro's offspring.

Yes I have a mare by Maestro. I bred her out of my RolandxTB mare. Diva, the Meastro offspring has the most fantastic tmperament and has bred me some very nice foals.

From what I saw of him, Maestro was quite a handful to ride and could be either brilliant or very bad

He was perfectly ballanced as he liked to show everyone by standing bolt upright for ages at a time, sometimes in the middle of a test. He was very hansome though.

This mare is by Meastro, she was a difficult mare when we got her but alot of it can be put down to a bad start but she was one sharp cookie and although we did get her competing she never quite relaxed enough to show of her amazing paces, we got her graded and she passed her performance test then we retired her to breeding and she is now sold on, lovely mare lots of quality just a shame we didnt get her before she was ruined as she never forgot it but thats Trakehners for you. Probably dosnt help you much but Meastro was a popular stallion in his time.

Having seen this happen a few times I have to say I would tend to put it down to pilot error (some other horses trained/ridden by the same person had an occassional tendency to do this too) so don't be too down on him for that as afterwards he was ridden and competed very successfully by a young rider not based in the UK.

He was a big upstanding horse -- but not particularly Trakehner like and rather broad in the chest (so slightly pidgeon toed) but he was a lovely mover and had great presence. I believe that he was graded by the Trak Verband in the usual way but was then sold to the Netherlands so did his performance test there, coming to the UK at the end of his 4th year. He was obviously used on Muschamp mares, especially of Isola Longa and Muschamp Danube lines -- and succeeded in shortening their rather long outlines and calming their rather hot temperaments quite well -- but he was not much used outside which was a pity. Perhaps his rather chequered history as a youngster and the fact that most of his competition career took place outside the UK counted against him but it would have been nice to see more of his progeny around.

My horse's Daddy! I own Muschamp Guntramis II, she is absolutely amazing, the sweetest temperament in the world and very hoest and genuine, can throw the most almighty tantrums but has never ever EVER mucked or reared or thrown me off!!!! She is brilliant hehe love her to bits, now competing a decent level of dressage.

Hi
Don't know if anyone is still interested. I have a 6year old made by maestro. Dame Summer Solstess. She is currently for sale to the right person. She has been a brood mare in the past but I feel would be a lively riding horse.

Summer Is bred by Samantha Bishop from Crosslanes farm.
