Hope this is allowed!

I was just wondering if anyone has ever either won anything from HORSE magazine or Divosa Breeches.

I won a pair of breeches through this magazine in July 2010. I'm still waiting on my prize :eek:

Funnily enough, when Phil was the star letter in another magazine we won a bag of blue chip original, I asked them to send me lami-light since the article was about weight loss and they eventually sent me two bags which did me nicely over the winter :p
 
I won a Ragfork from NagMag last year. However we were away and a card was left by a courier firm. When we got back we rang the courier company on the card but the parcel had gone back, and as we were not expecting a delivery we couldn't tell them who sent it and had no idea what it was, so couldn't follow up. Then about a month later NagMag rang to say we'd won the fork, but it never arrived, and months later I twigged the non delivery was probably that prize! Shame because it'd have been useful.
 
Won the star letter with Horse once but had to ask for my mountain horse gloves.

Also won a saddle with Your Horse and they were very good at contacting me.
 
Interestingly, Horse magazine is published by the same company as Horse and Hound. Presumably you've contacted the editor at Horse?

It's ultimately the mag's responsibility to see that you get your prize. I am a magazine editor myself and we run comps every month. I always make sure the prizes get sent out and would be mortified if a reader was waiting as long as you for a prize. In our case, companies usually send the prizes to us so we can send them out directly to the winners. This is a bit more long-winded but it does mean I can keep track and make sure they all get sent out. It does take a bit of time, as we are a small team and the mag itself is our priority but it would never take 10 months!

I would keep at it, if I were you, and kick up a fuss with the editor, publisher and magazine's forum (if Horse mag have one).
 
SO I am not the only one!

Am waiting for the magic Oxyshot I won in Showing World last June/July! Saw my name in the Aug/Sept issue! Thought Oh wow how super!

Was having my annual throw out of horsey mags and came across the Aug/sept issue and thought I would email them to ask them 'should I have done a bit more' to get my prize Tie breaker etc!

Got email back saying they were looking into it this week!

Will let you know if I ever get my prize!!!!!

(Half the time I reckon most of these 'prizes/giveaways' are just to get your details to send junk mail amazing that I won.....or shall I say possibly won LOL)
 
foraday kinda glad I'm not the only one! I'd love to win a saddle but I'd not be that lucky :p

Hi Red, have contacted Holdsworth PR (as these are the people who emailed me) by both email and left a voicemail yesterday. Had no reply to the voicemail by lunchtime today so called again, it rang for a while then went to answerphone where there was a mobile number. I quickly jotted it but decided to call again to double check and funny enough it went straight through to callminder (this person is currently on the phone) :rolleyes:

So I phoned the breeches company (as according to Holdsworth PR it was the company that hadn't sent the breeches out) and the lady took my details, will call back monday. Hopefully anyway.

I did have a look at the numbers on the HORSE website but couldn't figure which would be best to call. If I've heard nothing by tuesday I'll call through to the editor :)

I never thought about a forum, shall have a look and see if I can contact someone there, if they have one.

Finally got in contact with Holdsworth PR who have essentially told me it's my fault because I left it so late!

Yes it was left late because I didn't feel I could be as demanding if I hadn't paid for the item. I was also caught up with my university work and to be honest, I don't think it's an excuse and was spoken to very 'down' on the phone.
 
Well I think thats disgraceful. I would be inclined to take it further. You won fare and square so you should get your prize. Unless of course there was small print on the comp terms and conditions that said something like "onus is on the entrant to claim prize by such and such date". Make a complaint!
 
Your fault?! What rubbish, why didn't they send it out on time? I would phone/email the editor of the magazine you won it in and say you have spoken to the company that provided the prize and they were very rude to you.
 
It was Holdsworth PR who spoke to me rudely. I then called Divoza breeches who were VERY helpful and said the prizes were dispatched but they're going to try and figure out what happened. The nice man on the phone said either way they will sort something for me, and he took note of the email I sent last week where I told them I was actually a different size now :p and said to email him my new size, they will sort something for me. Fab news!

But depending on the outcome of this I will be writing a letter. Yes I probably should have been more in contact but when it's a prize you don't feel you can chase it up quite so ruthlessly.
