Just wondering other than H&H does anyone have recommendations for horsey magazine subscriptions?

I'd like one that I'll be able to learn a bit from and to read some interesting things, not just pretty pictures (although they're always nice) and adverts.

Any that come with freebies are always a bonus too!

Concordia - only three issues out so far (free to read here), but has made for an interesting read. There's also Baroque Horse Magazine - some issues are free here, but I'm not sure how you'd subscribe as the website's currently down. If you want a UK print magazine, go for YourHorse.

I buy Your Horse from time to time and had an email offer for subscribing recently. It was about £26 every 6 months maybe and you got a free Le mieux hat silk.

Try the readly app.

Something like £7.99 a month gives unlimited access to any magazine on there. Horse&Hound, Your Horse, Equestrian Life and Eventing are there, plus lots of other non-horsey magazines and newspapers.

Thanks for this, I used to love reading Eventing and still kick myself for not keeping them. I’ll enjoy re reading the ones they have available

I used to alternate between Horse & Rider and Your Horse. I was a one club Harry Hall member so got special offers.

I liked Horsemanship magazine when I subscribed to it. It was a bit different from the run of the mill How To magazine articles.

I used to subscribe to Eclectic Horsemanship magazine from America. More geared towards Western riding but horse psychology and training is what it is regardless of genre.

I also subscribe to Western Horse UK magazine. Its a half and half magazine so the flip side is the Horsemanship Journal. It also has some interesting training articles and isn't Western focused.

I subscribe to a couple of Western magazine from America, Western Horseman and Horse & Rider. Although they're obviously Western focused I find them a much better read than what's available for "english" over here.

I used to like Horse magazine, the monthly magazine from the H&H stable. I was sad to see it folded.

I know tou asked about magazines but don't dismiss books. Second hand a lot of good ones don't cost any more than a magazine.

Pocket Mags does H&H plus another half dozen equestrian magazines.

The trick is to sign up for their email which then alerts you to their special offers. My digital subscription to an IT magazine ran out, I wasn't sure about renewing so waited a few weeks to take advantage of a 40% off offer and used my points (obtained from the previous subscription) to get a further discount. The marketing ploy works because I now have 3 Mags on subscription at reduced rates instead of just two.
