Does anyone have any experience of these? It seems it is a straight bar mullen mouth loose ring snaffle, supposed to be good for horses who dont want to take up the bit. Any experiences good or bad?

Yes It's also known as a cambridge mouth snaffle.

My boy goes well in one, he seems to like the unfussiness of a straight bar but with a little port it gives a bit more tongue room.

I think it is quite sharp but saves him leaning like he can on something milder

its ported to relieve pressure on the tongue. I use it when mouthing and for in hand showing as I don't like using vulcanite (too bulky and gets sharp if chewed). I wouldn't use it for riding as i prefer a french link, and think the magic bits too thin to hold a proper contact with a soft baby mouth, but thats just my opinion
