Vets just finished operating on Magic. Good and bad news though. Good news is that they opened the tendon sheath and scraped out the septis which is apparently like a material sponge and adheres to anything. They have implanted a cologen gauze into the base of the tendon sheath which is impregnated with antibiotics. They are very happy with the operation and with the amount of septis they removed, but the tendon sheath goes all the way into the foot and ends near the navicular bone which they cant get to. A drain has been left in, in the hope that the fluid constantly being produced in the tendon will wash the poison out.
Cazz - not snake bite - puncture wounds too far apart and leg would have blown up (shown different symptoms).
The bad news is that he only has a 20-25% chance. They have done all they can now and it is only prayers that we have left.
If no improvement by Friday, he will be PTS.
Please HHO mates, whether you believe in the power of prayer or not, say one for Magic.
Thank you all.
