Bit of a numpty question really :)
I had both my girls on Magnitude (magnesium oxide) for both its calming effect and for its (supposed!!) assistance with weight loss and lami management. Both my girls were much better on it - Seren wasnt as cresty, and Melly isnt trying to rip people a new orriface just because they breathed wrong!
When Seren went off to stud, and subsequently was confirmed pregnant, I took her off it as I wasnt sure if she could have it, but she has gone back to being really cresty (they are both on lami routine) and is being increasingly flighty - especially when mels is in a bad mood! - so I was wondering if it would be safe to put her back on it?
Thoughts on a post card and bacon sarnies to all! (or nut cutlets for you veggies! lol! )

I was told by my supplier it is fine to feed. Friend fed it to her pregnant mare no problems. She just had the loveliest palomino filly

Oh cheers soulful!! I didnt think that it would be a problem, but you never know do you! Do you think I'll get a pally filly if I feed it??Thats the order Ive put in but Im thinking more bay colt! lol!!

best advice is to talk to your stud vet as he will know what is advisable on a pregnant mare. the supplier will usually tell you its ok as they want to sell their products. vet or specialist breeding nutritionalist will give you an un biased opinion. Good luck with your mares pregnancy.

Hiya, thanks for that...had a word with my vet today - not sure why I didnt just do that in the first place (duh!!) - and she said it would be ok, there doesnt seem to be any research on it being a problem in pregnancy. Thanks for the well wishes, Seri is happily baking her bun at the mo! :)
