Magnetic boots/wraps

Does anyone use magnetic boots on a regular basis?
If so, why do you use them and do you think they have made a difference?

Can I ask where you got your hock boots and if you find it difficult for them to stay on?Im looking for a pair as I have multi purpose magnetic wraps but they keep pinging off his hocks everytime he moves!

I use straps which Cairo has worn 24 x 7 for the past 2 years. They appear to have a beneficial effect on him as when they were taken off when he went to have cancer treatment he was pottery but fine again once they were on for a few days.

I would not keep boots/wraps on for a long time, hence getting the straps.

Got magnetic hock boots off ebay although I cannot leave my mare alone with them on as she hates them. You can only use them in the stable and they must not be left on too long. I am thinking about getting the straps as I could leave these on longer.

I've used magnetic boots on my horse for years - and as well as keeping him more mobile - it helps to keep any filling down if he's shut in for any length of time.

His legs used to fill really badly within a few hours, but not if I use the boots. It's always hard to tell exactly how much help any alternative therapies are, but at least this is proof that it must improve circulation - and therefore help speed the healing of injuries.

I used some brushing boot style ones after my horse injured his tendons. used them for walk up and down the road once a day, didnt do any harm...

We have studied them at uni and there is very little proof that magnetic boots have any effect on horses at all (although pulsed electromagnetic field therapy is meant to be very good). In most studies magnetic boots either have no effect or where there is an effect it can generally be put down to other things (ie. placebo effect). But I know a lot of people do believe they make a difference so it is up to you really though there are better alternative therapies out there.

my yo uses the veredus ones i think it is for travelling as she says it means her dressage horses circulation etc is all going etc already going when she gets to the show

my pony is stiff in her back legs so i am considering getting some for her to wear in the stable at night, especially as frogpool saddlery had the veredus ones on sale but i still cant decide if they do much?!
