My friend used one on my recommendation but she cannot remember where she got hers from:rolleyes: she just googled and bought the 1st she saw (about a year back now) she said it has given her dog a new lease of life:)
I want one for regan my rotti (as she has been lame) ok now and back to normal seems it was over doing it and because she has had both cruciates done in the past I would like to help maintain her in any way I can lol:D

Anyone bought one, can you recommend a good quality one, is there a huge difference in suppliers/quality etc?.

Thanks in advance.

I shall be eagerly watching this post as i would like one...for me!! Seriously tho, in addition to the collar, I bought my last boy a memory foam bed and mum got him a magnetic pad that slid under his bed/blanket etc-really worked and we saw a visible improvement-he was a rough collie and was the grand old age of 15 when we sadly lost him last year-we moved the mat away from his bed & blanket and he found it and lay on it. I'll try find out what tis called and who its by but should pop up in a google/ebay search!

ETA we didn't loose him due to moving the mat-totally unrelated, I'm just semi sleep typing!

My dad had one for his Lab who had dodgy shoulders. He has a Bioflow one, quality was good, but dog couldn't wear it!! Zara has a really strange reaction in that within 5mins of fitting the collar, her tail (which was normally wagging non stop), drop and curl round between her back legs, she would look so sad too. Thus after a couple of attempts she never wore it again (no idea where it ended up). She would return to her normal happy go lucky self within 1minute of the collar being taken off. She was used to wearing a normal collar, so that wasn't the problem.

She had a copper chain that she wore happily, which seemed to help.

Please do I would be interested to see that too:)

I think Bioflow is the only choice really, they do differ from other magnetic brands. I can understand how a dog may react oddly to one they are powerful but I would think this is an exceptional circumstance and most people/dogs/other animals have no adverse reaction.

St Sweep has a Bioflow one - it certainly helped with his post op fluid collection - it was gone in under a week - the vet wanted me to keep taking him back to have it drained - and at 14 he shows no sign of being stiff when getting up, walking etc :)

Would definitely have one for any older dog:)

Just checked with Mum, it was also Bioflow! they have been around for years at all the horsey/doggy/country shows-15 at least. With magnets and semi precious gemstones which I also swear by (healing chrystals) its important to use the right ones..anyone can sell a magnetic 'healing gadget' but the key is the correct polarisation..they have to be the right magnets..set up with the correct negatives and positives in the right place. Mum looked into it in a big way for my Dad after we'd found so much tat on the market but you wouldn't know from the price. Haematite is also worth a try as that works magnetically too-I make and sell jewellery and its one of the most popular lines I do-perhaps I should do dog bling!:D Bioflow is efffective -couldn't think of the name last night but its bioflow magnatherapy. It was pricey before, but well worth it as everyone has said above. also I remember we gave Max glucosamine, chondroitin and especially green lipped muscle supplement and hydrotherapy.

This is one site with hundreds of magnet products for dogs horses and home:http://www.discoverymagnets.co.uk/bioflow_pets.htm
http://www.bioflow.co.uk/bioflow-pets-cat-2 (I know it says cat, but is dog & horse on the page!!) these should get you going xx ps the discovery site has collars mats and pretty much anything for any situation involving magnets..scroll down forever and price not so bad. The memory foam mat is excellent size for gsd and was only 15 in aldi they do them from time to time and washable with non slip bottom. Beige with black base with little pimples like they do on riding gloves.

Completely agree, Zara was a rather unique, and rather sensitive.

I don't think our dog has a bio-flow one but we did get him a magnetic collar about 4 odd years ogo? We were competing at a BE event in N Yorks (the name will come to me at some point!) and there was a stand there so we went to chat to them. Our dogused to get really stiff after any long walk and it was not nice to see him struggle. Since he's had the collar I am convinced he is loads better - he will be 15 this summer and still likes to have his looney moments (although a bit more doddery these days) he certainly doesn't get the stiffness like he used to. He has his on from morning til about 6/7pm as both dogs have their collars off overnight.

If yours has been lame though, have you considered physio? Our GSD x went very lame in front once but it was on and off. We had vet checks done, I think we even had x-rays but they found nothing. Took her to McTimoney guy and he diagnosed soreness in her back - sacrum - treated her (it was sore, she yelped!) she was absolutely fine 2 days after and didn't limp again. It was quite remarkable.

Sophie is 12 now, and has been wearing a bioflow magnetic collar for three years. We got it because she has a slipped knee joint, and also suffers with arthitic back problems. We were told that the problems could end her life early.

Since she's had her collar on, we have literally not had a single problem, which is a relief, as getting metacam down her seriously endangers your own life

Be careful tho, not all cases benefit from magnets, do read up on this therapy first. But it has been fantastic for Sophie x
