My boy has got problems with his stifle and i was thinking of trying magnets to see if it will help, what do you think is better? The rug or the boots? Apparently, you havent got to have the magnets on the effected area, anywhere thats on a main artery is fine as it works through the blood??

Anyone use any of the above and has it made a difference?

I have an FMB rug and also the NEW boots and have friends who have used these on arthritic horses and also after treatment by Physios and totally recommend them, my mares fetlock tend to swell up if she stands in for too long and I put these on and there has not been any swelling or stiffness. The rugs are expensive so would suggest the boots are more economical and work just as well and you can leave them on for 23 hours a day.

I have experience of the rug - absolutely fantastic! Horse was v v stiff thro the neck and after an hour in the rug was really lossened up. Boots also v v good and as eoe says much cheaper. Bioflow were the ones I've used (and i wear one of their braclets)

I have used magnetic boots on a 26 year old starting to get arthritis - it kept him off BUTE for a year. They were recommended by a friend whose horse was so arthritic he could not lift his hind legs for the farrier.

I am using them on another old horse now.

My vet was impressed by the result.

I have one of the William funnel rugs and to be honest wasn’t that impressed. It helped but i found the rug itself a strange fit and it didn’t last very long before the seams started splitting.

I now have the Premier equine boots and they are working really well but my mare has a problem in her fetlocks. I like the look of the Premier equine magnetic rug.

Ok, if the seams split then it wouldnt be any good for my boy, hes a very beefy WB. Il have a look at the premier equine ones, thanks x
