magnetic rugs - do they really have any effect?

Hi,
My mare suffers with tight muscles along her back (which she regularly sees the back lady for and gets them worked through). She is like this as her conformation is very compact and she has a powerful, but a little 'upright' way of going. This has improved imensly with careful work and exercises, but I think some element of her being prone to tight back muscles will always remain. I was wondering if a magnectic rug would help her between back lady visits? I am naturally rather sceptical of them, but if there is a chance of it working and helping her be more comfortable then I'll give it a go.
Any experience of any effect (other than wallet lightening - HOW expensive?!!!).

I had a horse who was suffering sacrolliaic problems and tried a magnetic ruug on him. He problems were pretty bad and he suffered stiffness all along the spine.

I found it worked well, he was certainly less stiff in the mornings, didn't help the deep seated problems but seemed to ease him somewhat. I did a lot of research into different types and makes and opted for the aerborne as it could be left on all night under his stable rugs. It was expensive, one of the most expensive I think but I did manage to get my insurance to pay as the vet recommended I try it.

Unfortunately he ended up being PTS but I have used it subsequently on my very fine skinned TB who tends to come up in bumps and rubs at the drop of a hat and it does seem to make them go down a bit quicker.

The only think I will say is, magnetic therapy doesn't suit all horses. For example, I put teh same rug on my arab gelding that I had and he started sweating, foaming and staggered about the yard. I've never heard this happening before but it was alarming to watch, so introduce very carefully and watch your horses reaction.
