I am thinking of buying a magnetic rug for the horses, but was wondering if anyone had one and what they thought of it?
They seem to come in 3 price ranges and was wondering if the expensive one was actually any better than the middle or cheap sort?

Any views?

To be honest - an ebay magnet kit, a jersey cooler rug with velcro strips stitched on by the saddler. Hey presto - a magnetic rug (with magnets that can be moved about to the area needed.

Here is a listing for the one I bought (and the free equibands are really handy as well for attaching dressings/coolpacks etc).

I'll bring mine on Sat if you like. It's really handy, and I certainly wouldn't buy a very expensive one from a shop until trying this cheaper option first.

Yes, this is also what I have for both of mine (and because of the success, I became an agent for equimagnet).

The reason I bought this pack is because my horses are difficult to fit rug wise, and I wanted something that fit well under their stable rugs so they could be used all night. Also, I wanted to concentrate the magnets over the sacroiliac area and lower lumbar.

You dont have to be able to sew either - you can just glue the velcro onto an old summer sheet/cooler and then take the magnets off for washing. I use an old summer sheet as I find my horses really sweat up under the magnets.

The magnets are also more powerful than some of the ready made magnetic rugs.
