A field has come up for sale nr me, it doesn't have any elec or water supply.
How much does it roughly cost to get a supply of each, field is set back from road about 70m ish.
Just looking for rough prices thanks :)

It depends on how close the mains supply is - I know someone who has paid £thousands, but their nearest mains was a fair way away. Ask your local suppliers, it could vary quite a lot. Mine wasn't too bad - the mains was in the road my land fronts on to and we were digging the trench for it anyway, so I negotiated using that. It also depends on whose land they have to cross to get to you.

It depends how close you are to a supply. It could few thousand to £20,000. The electric also depends on where you'd take a supply from, you may need to pay to connect to someone else's supply and they charge what they like.

There is a track to the field which I assume will come with the field, so how do I findout who the electric suppliers are for the area? There is a farm down the road and houses further up.

You may only have a right of way over the track, so will have to negotiate a right for a pipeline/cable as well, it can get very messy. I would ring an electricity company and ask - I think infrastructure is separate from supply, it could be NPower, but you need to ask and do your research.

It cost me £1200 to have mains water put in..It had to come about 50ft off the main supply..Electric i am looking into having next year but have had the local electricity company out who have quoted £5800..I have a power pole 15 feet from the corner of my stable block but the pole does not have a transformer on it so that is what is going to cost the money..

I have a pole with transformer right in the corner of my field. Just to connect costs £thousands, with nothing more than a very short stretch of wire, talking a few feet.

So to sum it up electric normally costs more to connect, I guess because it's more dangerous to deal with. I guess this could be got around by using a generator.
