Hi ,anyone know about maize , in that I have a maize field next to my schooling field and the horses along one side can easily reach the stems and leaves .( They are only in this field for 2 or so hours to keep the grass down as its really a schooling area.) I know horses eat maize ( in feed ) but Ive never heard of anyone feeding/allowing horses to eat the stems etc . I know in US them seem to feed maize stems but they also feed straight oats so I would rather ask just to be quite sure .

Thinking about it I probably would not feed commercially grown maize crop stalks as they have probably been sprayed with pesticides, but I am happy to feed my landlord's stalks as I know he doesn't use chemicals.
