Can you feed maize stalks to horses - the whole plant but with the sweetcorn cobs removed?

My landlord has offered some to me for the neds but I was a bit unsure about feeding them. As a tester I split one stalk between the three of them and two scoffed them straight away, the one that didn't I not surprised she didn't eat it as she's the fussy one!

.

After checking out that this was OK I gave them to my lot and they scoffed them. So if any of you get the chance to offer your horses them they do make a tasty treat.
