For those that dont remember I posted a while ago about Suzy (http://www.horseandhound.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=477827)
I've been working really hard with her since then, and last night was breakthrough night (although i'd had varying successful steps inbetween)
I basically did loads of work with her on lead, in a field, running around with her looking like an idiot! calling her back on her lead and making it the most exciting thing i possibly could, and finally found a treat she was interested in (some dog food freeby i got - wouldnt ever feed it properly due to 25% protein level, but she thinks its the best so has worked brilliantly as a training aid!)
then i would let her off lead for her hoon with Millie, and calling her back once they'd slowed down - sometimes she'd come back, others would take a bit more pursuasion!
Last night, she was all over me, coming back even when in mad dash, and most pleasing of all, Millie took off at full pelt across the field, and Suzy was about to join her (got to about 100 yards away from me) I called her, and she came straight back!!!
I know its not much, but I am so pleased, I was then able to walk them both back through the woods off lead, whereas I would normally stick Suzy back on lead when we left the field. She just seems to enjoy herself so much more, while Millie is still always looking for me and the next command, Suzy isnt quite there, but is always keeping me in her peripheral vision!
anyway, happy happy happy - and thanks to everyone who offered advice in the previous thread!
