Make your own Rambo Fly Protector

I was looking on the web to see if you can buy Pemethrin (the product that Rambo flybusters are coated in) on its own as an insect repellent.

I found this NikWax product SkitoStop for tents; with an application it lasts for 6 months.

So I might buy some: treat my normal fly rug and then it'll be like a Rambo flybuster plus I wont need to apply fly spray to the horses all summer.

Crazy idea or do you think it'll work?

I'd be very careful - has it been tested on horses or just tents??

That sounds good, but I would patch test your horse with it first - just in case!
