Making an exercise sheet

I have a fleece rug which doesn't fit any of our ponies (correct size just really wide at the front so sits strangely), have tried to sell it with no luck so thought instead of buying a warm exercise sheet (only have a waterproof one) I could make the fleece rug into one.
Just wondered if anyone has done this before?

I have made a quarter sheet style exercise rug from an old woolen horse rug. I took off the binding and cut the rug to shape using a template made from an existing quarter sheet. I then sewed the binding around the edge of the new quarter sheet and sewed on webbing straps and plasic clips. You can get nylon webbing and plastic clips from ebay. http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Lyndas-Horsewear is good.
