Making tail grow

I have an otherwise healthy 7yo ottb who has always had decent hair. His tail has recently been im guessing chewed so it looks lile ot was cut just above his hocks with a couple of strands left. Does anyone have tips to make it grow back faster? I was thinking about rosemary oil? Thanks

Just leave it alone. Don't brush it. You will be surprised how quickly it will grow back.

Thank you, it will just take time but I am hoping to compete him next sumer and ideally he would have a proper tail

My horse lost pretty much all of his tail. He had a few strands left on his dock. Initially I had a false tail made for competition, but I was really surprised how quickly it grew back. This was also on a horse that is very thin skinned, doesn't grow much coat and barley has any mane!!
