I was looking at the turn out boots called "Golly Galoshes" which look fab. They are a tad pricey for both my boys so i wondered had anyone made anything similar them selves

Are they turnout boots? They look like protective/hi viz leggings.

Going by the photos I should think you could make them, velcro, zips, some nylon fabric, a tape measure and a sewing machine. Save up and buy them, probably work out cheaper in the long run
Ah, I see, they are to protect bandages and boots.
No, I haven't made anything like that although I do make leg wraps to keep bandages (for wounds etc) secure when a horse is out in the field, I use neoprene and velcro. The velcro grips the neoprene, so only hook part of velcro is needed, not a stitch required.
