I am dosing my mare with Panacur Equine Guard .

Today was the second dose but she detected the taste in her feed and would only eat half of it. As she has both pinworms and encysted small strongyles I am very concerned that she takes the next 3-4 doses.
She has soaked barley rings and speedi-beet in one feed daily. Can anyone suggest any additives I can give her to make her eat it all up?

(She cannot have moli-chaff or Alfa A or carrots and apples in the feed as she gets Choke easily).

I assume you've tried just worming from the syringe ?
by far the best method of ensuring she eats it all
I only ever give in feed if the horse is completely 'mental' about a syringe

if she's just tricky with a syringe
tie up, syringe in, grab and hold the mouth closed, stroke throat until she swallows,
having a small handful of oats to offer IMMEDIATELY works wonder IME

if you HAVE to put in feed use a SMALL feed (not her full feed) and add a good dollop of black treacle

if this still doesn't work, then at least you only have a small volume to get down to give her the full dose

in that case, tie up, take a good 'dollop' of the feed and worm mixture on your fingers and place in 'pocket' made by bottom lip in front of teeth
hold this closed until she swallows
repeat until whole dose is down

(this is how I have to give those ridiculous antibiotic powders to one of mine - WHY on EARTH they have to make the dose such a huge volume defeats me!)
