I have a lovely cob mare who has these behind one knee and on her back leg. I have read with interest the threads on mites which touches the subject but has anyone got rid of them completely and kept using products to keep them at bay. I am currently using vasaline every night but would like to try and clear them up all together and get the hair to grow back.

I wash the area once a week with a warm weak solution of hibiscrub - very weak, and plaster on E45. It seems to keep it at bay.

sudo cream is good and you can mix flowers of sulphur with it too,even better.

Have tried pig oil and sulphur and it didn't work. The moment I stop putting anything on it the scabs come back and it looks awfull. x

Pig oil n sulphur once a week and then hoof to heal cream every other night. Works for me! X

They drive me to distraction!!!!!

I'm washing twice a week with microtek and applying seal to heal at the moment.
