Well my old vet book says. Wash with mercurial soap and dry.
Apply ointment such propamidine cream, chrysarobin ointment or saliclic acid ointment??????
My sec D has always had it behind his knees (doesn't get mudfever), and once a week I sponge it with dilute hibiscrub, and remove as many 'paintbrushes' as I can, and then rub E45 cream in really well.
This keeps it at bay, and at times even clears it up for a while.
