Tried this on Hunting Forum and got a couple of replies but hoping the TR regulars will add a boost! :)

I need some starch put into me... desperately want to go out with the bloodhounds again this season, managed 1 meet (my first ever at the age of 50!) last year, but now have my new horse Roo. He is a bit spooky and can buck. I have had him about 4 months. I can only manage 1 hound ride due to work commitments GRRR and I was going to take an experienced friend but she can't come that day.

So guys, man me up! Please give me some encouraging words to stiffen the sinew and get me out there. I do have an air jacket!!

You'll be fine! Work him hard the day before to take the edge off, and possibly give him a quick lunge in the morning of so he's not too fresh.

As for you, have a swig of Dutch courage, finger through the neck strap, sit back, heels down and kick on!! :D

Drop the feed a little the week before and work the life out of him ..pop on fresh undies and sticky bum jods .. Full hip flask ( for your neddy) and two hips flasks for u .. And off u go ;)

I do love the bit where you say 'I do have an airjacket!!!' LOL
I actually envy you, I would love to ride with the Bloodhounds (having had one as a kid) but think I would need an air jacket, air trousers, air hat .... actually just get me one of those big air balls they roll people down hills in!!! :D
Sounds like great fun and I'm afraid you simply must give it a go!
