I have recently found out my 8 yo Gelding is allergic to Dust mites and storage mites.

He has had a cortisone injection into the muscle which should relieve him for a few weeks, but he gets extrememly itchy under normal circumstances.

Vet has reccomended i was his rugs every few days on a very hot wash and keep his enviroment as dust free as possible to help eliminate dust mites, and make sure i dont use feed from the bottom of the feed bin to eliminate storage mites.

He also has his hay soaked for about 15 mins to get rid of any dust, but is bedded on shavings, but as he has been on them all his life so far and its only recently something has triggered the reaction im pretty sure i can rule out the shavings.

wondered if anyone else has to manage this problem and could give me some advice please.
