Managing mites - selenium sulphide alone?

I have a HW cob, who's previous owner advises has a history of mites (chorioptic). In the past he has been managed with regular use of washing with dilute hibiscrub and front-line spray.

When I got him early June, I had him dectomax injected (two weeks apart), as he'd had a recent flair up. However, it's almost 6 months now and there's been no itching, stamping, biting or sores. Seems just fine. I am continuing to wash his lower legs every few weeks with Selsun (selenium sulphide).

He will be needing his annual vaccinations in the coming month and I'm wondering if I should have another Decotmax jab at the same time. Does Dectomax have a long term action, which is why he's probably not suffered in the last 5 months? In which case a repeat might be a good idea. Or, do people think the shampooing has kept the mites at bay?

I don't want to inject unnecessarily, but also want to avoid future infestations
