Nits had this about a month ago. She was on box rest for something unrelated) and has been until this evening. I have put her out tonight (she is allowed out according to vet) but I am worried I will find her hopping about in the morning.

She isn't stressed anymore, will she be ok? I am not very clued up on laminitis as have had TBs for as long as I can remember and haven't had to really learn about it!

Jess, if the laminitis was caused by the stress of being on box rest then putting her out isn't going to make it worse! Now, I'm assuming you haven't chucked her out into acres of knee high cow pasture, but just back into the paddock she was in and in which she had been fine. In which case if the cowbag belts about and/or gets herself kicked then she might be hopping tomorrow but the amount of grass isn't likely to cause her any problems at all.

I hope that is partly reassuring!

Yes. Much better. Although my logical head tells me this should be the case it is very hard not to worry about her because she is so fragile and insists on going wrong constantly.

She was belting about, despite the 5ml of Sedalin she had, but stopped before I left her and she was sound then so I am crossing my fingers!

And no, despite the fact that most of my field is thigh high in grass now, she has only been allowed out on the bit brown horse has been grazing.

On the plus side though, they were very happy to see each other. Brown horse especially. He has been pining for company quite badly the last couple of weeks. The chances of him kicking her are about the same as a snowflake's chance of surviving in hell. He worships her!

Beware the lovers' tiff! My chestnut is currently sporting a fetching gash under his eye where the big mare, who normally plays Joan to his Darby, has presumably kicked him. And she has some interesting bald patches by her hips which suspiciously like teeth marks . . .

Fingers crossed Nits''ll be fine!

she tried to kick him more than once. Horrid beast. I've never seen him lift a leg to anything. I don't think he actually knows he can. :D He isn't a bright beast as I'm sure you're aware!
