Best way to help mane and tail growth??
I have a beautiful Welsh D and he truly is stunning but he is currently lacking in the mane department as his mane is just a bit short and straggly and just in general makes him look a bit scruffy!! So i am writing wondering if anyone has any tips to help his mane grow!

His rug doesn't have a neck and his mane doesn't get brushed constantly only every now and then when he has some visitors. and still then that is only with a dandy brush! :)

Anyone have any supplements/products to help his mane grow in a bit better! :)

Thanks in advance :D

Does he have sweet itch? If he does he'll rub the mane out on the fence over summer so it will never look long and thick.

Sometimes with ponies whose manes and tails don't get brushed much they can get itchy and rub more so if you brush it out once a week, section by section, right down to the roots with a mane comb or plastic curry comb they rub less and the mane grows thicker as a result. The detangling sprays can help with getting the comb through without breaking the hair.

Thin tails are often due to over-brushing breaking the hair so the best bet if you like a nice clean tail is to cut it fairly short, I like to do it so it ends half way down the cannon bone but I've seen some done shorter in winter, that way it's not trailing in the mud all the time so there's less temptation to brush it daily. If you wash the end weekly, just the bit with no bone in it, then use the detangler spray and comb it through the tail will stay quite clean all week.
