Mane changed colour?!

I have allowed my gelding's mane to grow out since he has been on 24/7 turnout to give him some more protection from the elements. The bottom 2-3 inches of his mane have now gone a dirty bleached white, the same on his forelock. Also the hair at the top sides of his tail has done the same. He is a bay, and it does look quite odd! Has anybody ever heard of anything like this before? He is anglo arab, nine years old. Any thoughts appreciated

its probably the that has sun died it, my 2 bay's black mane and tails tips go a gorgeous auburn colour!! with a hint of blonde!!!!

My chestnuts mane has gone more blonde, also the hair just above her coronet band has gone blonde too.....

My boy (bright bay) has lovely highlights in his forelock which I think is a combination of fly spray and the sun. He looks very cute with them too.
