Mane chewed off

My mare & gelding love mutual grooming especially the neck. Unfortunately the mare is very enthusiastic & has shredded the geldings mane in one area. What can I put on this area that will encourage hair growth and discourage the mare from grooming there.

Maybe something like Wondergel, as it’s got a tea tree type aroma. Or Leovet No Rub? They might be bitter tasting and off putting enough for her!

EQyss McNasty Anti-Chewing Spray should do the job, it can be used on coats and manes/tails.
Apply carefully, in an open area, probably onto a sponge or cloth used only for that job. Not because it's toxic or anything, but because it's POWERFUL.
Was once in the enclosed washbox with a mare and foal, and the foal was chewing the gate. YO spritzed a bit of that onto the gate to stop it, and the overspray basically maced all three of us in the box! Lots of sneezing and coughing between us!
