Am trying to find the best construction for an arena (20 x40)..I need it levelling first .Have seen Equatex- drain system which eliminates need for stone but never heard if it. Has anyone else?

lol, I hadn't - so Googled. Seems it is used in central heating boilers. Couldn't find any reference to manege surfaces - maybe someone has 'stolen' the name.
