We've got a lovely manege that we've been maintaining regularly with a leveller, however while it flattens the surface it doesn't compact it enough and I'm finding that I need to level it almost daily (I exercise 4 horses on it a day)! The people that installed the manege said that I need a really heavy roller to compact it down and stop it moving around. Where can I find one of these without paying a fortune? It wasn't a cheap manege and was provided by the same people that work at HOYS and Belfast International so it's a good quality sand and fibre mix surface. I don't want another leveller version as ours does a really great job, I just need a roller. I have a 4x4 quad for towing. Any advice would be great!

Ours cost about £400 new, tows easily behind the quad, and is literally worth its weight in gold. When the surface first went down (about 5 years ago) I was levelling and rolling every day, but now I just level it a couple of times a week and roll it once and it's great (and it gets a lot of use).

Thanks 'showjump' - i'll have a look at that link. It was put down in June last year.

Rowreach - how much does yours weigh? I've been told I need to be careful with the weight of the roller and the capabilities of my quad (a big farm 4x4 quad).
