Manes

My horses mane lies very nicely to the left, I have tried brushing it over and pulling it on the left so that when I plait for dressage I do not have any bits sticking up, but its a real nightmare trying to pull a mane on the opposite side to which it lies naturally.
Does it really matter which side the mane is platted on for dressage ????
I have always been told horses should be platted on the right?

Ru's mane lasy naturally to the left and i plaited it so its upright so niether ight or left really

Ha so does ella's!! I tried in the summer to "train" it over to the right. It worked for a while but now it's very happily back on the left!! I have no idea how to sort it out! Sorry!
