Manual or auto?

What do people use to tow an ifor williams 510/511 with a 16.2 Irish sports horse please? We have a 2000 land rover disco manual diesel. It always towed my 505 with 16.2 perfectly but we noticed it can jump a little with the new trailer. Driver is experienced

Have towed a 511 with a ML automatic and a Landrover 110 - both excellent

I tow our two geldings (one 16.1 and one 17.2) with an automatic Shogun. It's brilliant, makes pulling away much easier and smoother.

Used both but you use less juice with a manual diesel...auto was a disco, manual is a freelander

Have towed my 511 with a manual Defender and a automatic pick up.

Nothing particularly noticeable but I do find the auto is a little zoomy in reverse, if you don't have enough on the accelerator it won't manage to push it back but enough to push it back lacks the fine control of the manual defender.

Do I want the defender back, no thanks lol
