I'm sorry if this has been asked before but its always different circumstances in questions so I figured that i'd just start from scratch
Conn's leg developed an abscess which burst on Monday morning. This morning, when we took the bandage off, all the skin had come off the abscess leaving an open hole in his leg, about an inch in diameter.
Vets been and is fairly happy with him, we just need the tissues to heal over as it on the inside of his fetlock so no turnout/riding until all gone!
We have used manuka honey on a guinea pig in the past and I want to know if it might speed up the healing process? At the moment we are bandaging each morning and evening after cold-hosing to wash all the yuk out.
So does it work? Do you have any experience with leg abscesses and do you have any tips for speeding up the healing?
I'm on cooking duty so Creamy chicken and tarragon fir any answers
