My mare has been scanned in foal is around 20 days. She has been out in a paddock next to another stallion previous to covering. (not the one she has been covered by). They are quite close companions and worry when apart. Is it OK for her to remain in her adjoining paddock to said stallion whilst in foal. I have heard stories of not letting mares near stallions when early in foal. This doesn't make much sence to me as in the wild this would not be the case. Anyone with any experience in this and whether it could cause any issues?

Our mares do live with our stallion during pregnancy.
I would expect your mare to tell the neighbouring stallion in no uncertain terms she was Not Interested !

That's what i thought thank you. We tried her to see if she'd returned and that was the case. They are separated by a fence anyways as I've known mares to let a stallion cover her even when in foal which can obviously cause issues.
