mare in season

Hi everyone i think my mare may be gettig her first season of the year. very preoccupied, figety wont stand still to be groomed and tail flicking etc. just wondered what everyone elses mare did when they were on season and how they were to ride?

Mares in season are like women on periods. Simple.

They get moody, agitated, mare-ish and just become a massive grump. (The one's I know do anyway)

K has been having mini seasons through all of winter!!

Fidget bottom, pulling more faces than normal, stubborn to move, difficult to get walking in from the field.
Generally ok to ride, if a little behind the leg, but carrying a schooling whip helps that.

ETA: Very squirty!! Horrible back legs and tail sometimes, definite shampooing job.
