What is your mare like when she is in season?
Nadia bangs her back end against her stable, someone elses stable, fences gates and squirts everywhere. When I'm riding she stops to squirt, when I'm leading her she stope to squirt or to bang herself against the nearest fence.
My farrier couldn't believe it and said he has never seen anything like it.

You can't really tell when our girl is in season. Have worked with mares who were very obvious though - prancing and squirting all over the place! They're all different. :)

Emerald is dreadful:eek: I have to wash her back end down almost daily at this time of year as I swear a full gallon comes out every time..and she is especially attacted to the cute TB gelding in the stable opposite her, so it is a messy week this week.

Hardly notice any change in either of my 2 but then they only live with each other and a filly foal so have no males to flirt to. When I was on a different yard in mixed herd seasons were always a nightmare with mucky/stinky back legs and tails, don't miss that at all.

No difference under saddle with Meg, she just flirts a bit with the geldings next door, often doing her 'wet knicker walk'! Thats about it really.

Fany is good as gold. Except when her BF calls her then she is a madam, luckily there are only 2 geldings on the yard she fancies the rest she ignores.Which is just as well as there are around another 15!

But in the stable or field she is fine. She doesn't squirt much, just raises her tail.

My old horse, 10year old tb mare would stand at the gate to the neighbouring field with her bum to there gelding all day. She'd never leave him not even for her dinner, proper tart!!

With my current mare, 5years old, you can barely tell, her temperament never changes nor does her attitude, she's not at all tarty/flirty with the geldings at our place! She just occasionally has sticky patches on her legs!!

Not sure if that's because of her age or if it's just her!!

no difference at all, she both hacks out with geldings and goes out in a herd of mares with one gelding, none of ours bother with him much but he's certainly in love with her!

Ours are both tarts - they become much moodier and squirt at everything in site, including us when we are trying to pick out feet, brush tails...!
They flirt with everything going - including other mares in ones case haha. Not heard of the banging against fences though.

our mare squeals and squirts, a right tart, big squeals last week whenthe farrier came and kicked merry hell on her box wall, never mind the fact she is due to foal ina fortnight-bless her.

Shes an ex broodmare and she corners the geldings squirts all over them and tries desperatly to get them to mount her and backing her bum into them hehe :p
