Mare poss in foal with toothache for sale...

Cannot be polite so will not say anything!!!!!! Just why do they think it ok to pass on the poor horse surely they can come to some arrangement to pay for treatment.

I'm taking it they cannot afford the treatment and therefore have to sell her ? This then begs the question just why have they let her possibly get into foal ... Foals are not exactly cheap !

Poor bl***y horse :(

I bet the owner will say how upset she is to be selling a horse that she really, really, loves............. yeah, right :(

If the mare is pregnant then I assume the same owner who cannot afford £150 for an equine dentist has paid a stud fee which I would imagine was a lot more than £150. I paid that 21 years ago for my mare to go to stud to a TB.

Agree with ester, a tooth out will legally require a vet in this country.

One of mine had a tooth root abcess a few years ago and it cost a 'little' more than £800, although his was a pre-molar so may well be less for an incisor if the lump really is 'under her chin' as the advert says. Mine wasn't insured so I well know how much it cost! He was a similar age too so the teeth are still long and deep - not so common for 'younger' horses to get tooth root abcesses when the teeth are still flush at the bases, but perfectly possible.

Absolutely agree that it's potentially a welfare case - and agree that I've found the BHS or WHW are better at dealing with these sorts of things than other 'charities'... I'm miles away - could some one closer report them?

Poor mare.

(She could be 'accidentally' in foal so no stud fee required...?)

Could anyone near Chatham go to see her on the pretext of buying her, and then report the issue to World HorseWelfare or the BHS? The owner wants shooting. Poor little mare.

can someone do this or report the ad? So they cant afford to treat the horse so passing on the buck. Poor mare. owners should be shot what evil people. bet poor horse is in pain
