hi. i have a 4yr old coloured mare. she's always been a little firey but since another mare has moved into the stable next door she has demolished the stable door, kicked holes in the adjoining breezeblocks and managed to kick the bars above the breezeblocks in her attempts to get at her neighbour. i've put rubber matting on the wall and blocked the bars with wood so she can't see, and to stop her hoof getting caught between the bars, and replaced the door - again. the stable owners got up at 4 the other morning as she was making so much racket. i'm considering asking next door to swap places with the next one along which is a shetland gelding so may not be perceived as a threat. i'm not sure moving her to another stable will work as she kicks when the next door stable is empty and i'm worried it's become a habit. i've read about the 'quitkick' water deterrent but it's expensive and my hubbie thinks it's only for those that paw or kick with their front hooves. can anyone please help?
