Mares in season

How long are mares normally in season for? and am i right thinking that they come in to season roughly every 3 weeks?

Mine comes into season every 20 days and it last about 5 days, sometimes 6.

yeh a few of our mares have came into season and it seems as if this one is lasting forever!!
