Any one else's mare come into season yet??

I know its early. But my mare on box rest who is an angel sweet natured, threatened me yesterday when i brushed her tummy area. She loves between her teats rubbed but when i touched this area she turned ears back and threatened me .

In 22 & 1/2 years i have never noticed this before.

no sign of injury only what has been sweaty area from lying down .

any other part no probs , when my livery tried 20 mins later she didnt do it.

When she went to stud years ago i never notice her this sensitive but she was out in fields then.

She seems to have that * I am in season grouchy look * I have seen in other mares .( NEVER HER )

this has nothing to do with her box rest length of time .

Has any one else s mare come in season early???

ive known thousands mares in my years get grouchy in season never her, but then i usually see her flirting with geldings squirting etc but being in none of the other symptoms are showing this is the area i clipped it as i thought the dry sweat was making her skin sore.

I did wonder whether chestnut mare was in season or not. Not because she showed any change, but because the gelding was following her around like a puppy and he normally spends his time with the grey.

The mares at my yard came into season this week and have been ridiculous with it. My mare is normally pretty constant, it doesn't normally effect her but she has been really silly this week, hoolying around the field.

My mares have been coming into season all winter.

I had a lovely new lad come onto the yard about 6 weeks ago and he bought one of my mares well into season.

We have had such a mild winter which ahs tricked the system.
