Could the warm weather be meaning mares haven’t stopped their seasons yet?

My mare has been extremely sassy the last few days and allowing the gelding next door to put his head up her backside while thoroughly enjoying it ?

I assumed she wouldn’t be in season now.. but maybe I’m wrong?

My mare is in season at the moment but doesn't have the pleasure of a gelding flirting with her. :D

? She isn’t usually bothered by him at all, but ran straight over this morning and was all over him like a dirty rash.

She was sore in her back yesterday for the vet (she’s had 3 weeks off work, out 24/7) yet wasn’t sore there a couple of weeks ago when the vet last came out. He was miffed, so we x-rayed back and clear.

Makes sense it’s season related. ?

Yes they can become tender in the lower back when in season but it usually passes fairly quickly.
